      The 1890 Morgan silver dollar is often found in uncirculated conditions, however Gems are rare to find. The 1890 Morgan dollar is believed to have 16,802,000 circulation strikes and 590 proofs. The metal content is made up of 90 percent silver and 10 percent copper. The edge is reeded and unlike other silver dollars, there is no mint mark, however the coins were minted in Philadelphia.
 
    The Morgan silver dollar gets its name from designer George T. Morgan. This coin has a weight of 26.73 grams and measures 38.1 millimeters in diameter. The coin features the head of Lady Liberty on the facing side and the crested eagle on the reverse.

    In recent years, the Morgan silver dollar has sold for as low as 86 dollars and as high as 23,000 dollars. As graded by the PCGS, the finest examples of Morgan silver dollars to date are a single PRCA-67 Proof Cameo, 3 PRDC-66 Proof Deep Cameo, and a single PR-68.
